Default my car is posessed

ok, so im venting a little bit. my car broke down on the freeway about two weeks ago on the very first day of my vacation. nothing is working, and its raining hard as ----. i have my car towed to my girls house because it was the closest place and tow trucks charge by the milage. the first thing that i checked was my battery. it was completely dead. ok, fine. logically, i had my alternator tested at autozone. that ---- was putting out like 6 volts or something stupid like that. so i replaced the alternator and had them charge up my battery. luckily for me, the alternator was under warranty so i paid nothing. anyways, no luck, the ------- car still wouldn't start. i went to california for a little over a week for my aunts wedding and to see my relatives. when i came back, i did a fuckload of troubleshooting and eventually noticed that my timing belt had snapped off. that ---- looked like beef jerky that somebody had bitten into where it snapped, but everywhere else it still looked new. i picked up a timing belt from honda and replaced that. i made sure to put my pistons at top dead center and all of that cool ----. i timed it with my timing light, and i got my car to start and idle perfectly for about half an hour. i thought for sure my ---- was cool. i figured it was time for a test drive, but then noticed that i had a flat tire. i just filled my tires with air a few days prior. ok, whatever. me and my homeboy pull the tire and take it to a gas station to fill with air. i reinstalled the tire. i drove about two blocks and the car ran perfectly fine. all of a sudden, without even touching the gas pedal, my ---- started to idle at 6800 rpm!!!! WTF. obviously i turned my ---- off. no codes, but i reset the ecu anyway. when i turned it on it immediately went to redline. i tried a couple of times and it did the same ----. we pushed my car back to my girls house(my legs are still soar.... that was ------- far). i checked to see if my throttle cable got stuck or anything, but that was all good. i then pulled the intake pipe off of the throttle body so that i could see the throttle body plate. the wierd thing is that when my car revs up to redline, the throttle never opened up. where the ---- was it getting air from, wouldn't it die out from no air? i figured that i had a vacuum leak, and thats where it was getting air from. i checked all of my vacuum hoses, and all of them were good. i even tried spraying soapy water and looking for bubbles. then i started thinking that it was a sensor. me and my boy just started unplugging ---- to see what it would do. eventually, when we unplugged the eacv and started the car, it didnt rev to redline right away. it just kept jumping from 800rpm to 2500rpm every couple of seconds. once again, i thought that we had found the culprit. i tested the eacv using the procedures listed in the crx helms manual that i downloaded from here. all of the voltages, resistance and stuff were good, so the sensor tested good. i also replaced the ecu with a known good one just for ***** and giggles. no luck. im starting to run out of ideas on what to do. anybody got any insight?

also, im not a statistician or anything, but what are the odds of having your alternator, battery, and timing belt fail at the same time, in addition to getting a flat tire and having your motor decide to start idling at redline?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh yeah, 90 crx dx w/ d16y8 swap (with a6 intake manifold), pm6 and vafc.

thanks

take the iacv off and clean it? if your car still idled like crap with the iacv disconnected, there is probably another vacuum leak. plug both holes in the throttle body and see if the car tries to die. if not, you should be able to locate the vacuum leak by sound.

damn dude so its just one problem after another . well if it's idling up to redline thats gotta be one big vacume leak. i would check the tb, around the intake manifold to see if the gasket is leaking, also check the tb gasket, anywhere that has a big port for vacume like the pcv valve, ya know anywhere after the head to the manifold. say if you put your hand over the throddle body does the car die? you should try cleaning out the iacv with some brake cleaner and see if that helps at all.

so i cleaned the ---- out of my eacv/iacv/whatever you wanna call it, and it didn't help at all. i rechecked my vacuum hoses and couldn't find anything wrong. i also tried plugging up some of the vacuum holes/hoses, but still nothing. tomorrow i guess im going to go and buy some gaskets at honda and see how that turns out.

if buying gaskets doesn't help, im probably going to head to a yard and pick up another intake manifold. however, if i cant find any 88-91 si manifolds, im wondering if any other civic manifolds will work. maybe a z6 or y8 manifold. i know that it will obviously bolt up. however, are the sensors the same, or should i stick to an 88-91 intake manifold?

a6 manis suck ***** on vtec heads get a vtec manifold. vtec manifold requires the matching throttle body and the iacv has a different blot appern. Silcone is your friend go to autozone its like 4 bucks and through some on the throttle body area and any other area besides the hg
