engine management?

Re:my 1/4 mile slip, integra LS/VTEC

Well, according to the 60 foot time, some better tires would probably put you in the 15's alone.

i am not mad at my time, my setup is basically stock, and i do have some crappy tires.

I see ls/vtec's run low 15s high 14s stock. no offence but i would cry if i invested the time and only ran a low 16 second pass good luck

my fried is runing the same setup wxcept with skunk2 stage 2 cams and he hit 15 flat at palmdale. thats about mid 14 at sea level. he has major traction problems though. i think with slicks he can break into high 13's or low 14's, remember the teggy is a heavy chassis.

Yea you should be running better times with that setup. I saw a guy run mid 13s with a 94 civic hatch stripped interior etc with an LS Vtec and stage 4 clutch, no nos no turbo etc just all motor with some drag radials and that thing hauled.

lol, maybe "engine management" is to big of a word, WHAT ECU ARE YOU USING, WHAT ACTIVATES VTEC, IS THE ENGINE TUNED?

basically, your 60 ft time sucks, you need to learn how to launch, but even that... your mph is incredibly slow for that engine. I had a d16a6 in a crx with I/h/e that hit 15.4 @ 89mph. Your setup is not tuned correctly, whats your base timing at? Do you still have a cat convertor? Is your clutch biting good?

thats poopy, i ran a 16.2 on a blown a6 with like no compression in the 3rd cylendar and smoking like a animal on only 6 lbs of boost....thats suspect

my crx ran the same as Abaz. I actually have 3 or 4 runs on VHS. (I wasn't the owner at the time but its the same car). I'm going to try and get them to a PC file.

what ::) out of all the obvious things that are obviously culprits, you throw in "cam timing", where the hell did that come from :P

Re:my 1/4 mile slip, integra LS/VTEC

no offense, but that time sucks. i ran a 15.8 consistint in my 90 integra with 217k mile, stock clutch (slipping a few seconds 1-3) with intake, and manifold back exhaust.

get your 60' time down. i was 2.5 and got to 2.2. it took a few tenths off my final time.

other "mods" included
short shifter
weight reduction (car weight 2680 with driver) (usually weights in around 2850 with system and all)
yokohama yx420 tires.
lowered (didnt help times, so not really important).

Re:my 1/4 mile slip, integra LS/VTEC

when you put a new head on the block what opperates the vavetrain? ohh could it be the cams? :o So you are telling me that when installing a new head that their is no possible way the timming could be off? I have encounterd this with my motor i had installed a new head and took it to the track and ran a 15.8 checked my timming and it was off, went back through (only off by a few centi.off) and i could pull a 14.3 .When the timming is off the valves dont open all the way and at the right time. So basically you are starving it for air. Thats my recomendation if you dont like it dont try it i dont give a ----

chill little buddy, we all know that can happen, God know's it's given me ---- on plenty of cars...

I'd say just work on your reaction time, and get descent tires...

Re:my 1/4 mile slip, integra LS/VTEC

just wanted to throw this is. IF the cam timing was off it would still open the valves all the way. It would just open them at different TIMES. So chill on projekteg cuz you ---- up too.
