msd 6a question

i just bought myself an msd 6a and i'm wondering if i should bother switching to external coil and redo the entire ignition system. the only upgrade i have for spark right now is ngk platinum plugs, one step colder. what else should i do to really take advantage of the 6a?

any advice would be appreciated.

Re: msd 6a question

Get a external coil and cap... it will help with ignition break up on the top end.

imho an ignition box is worthless w/o a external coil.

Re: msd 6a question

how much of an improvement will the ignition really make? will it be noticable?

Re: msd 6a question

i recommend it to everyone. i've had the same msd6a on an accord, integra, and civic.
throttle response is better, upper rpms are very noticable, and overall smoother.
