No you have a ground problem most likely


check main and t stat

ok i have replaced a few stock motors and they alway go batt termina body then tranny but this one goes batt to tranny do i need to add the body ground

As i sure you know this . you need the thremostat ground and for good measure ground your starter. also ground the valve cover. i had mucho problems until i did these three things.
