Re:motor mounts??
you want solid motor mounts? just weld yours in, but be ready to loose some teeth from the vibration
|
Re:motor mounts??
What kind of results are you looking for? I did the window weld thing and I hated it (just the lower mounts). I got the ES inserts (lower and rear) and I like it much better. My tractions still kind of sucks, but it's spinning, not hopping. I'm hoping to get some drag radials this winter and see what happens next spring.
Maybe something like a traction bar might be in line? ??? |
Re:motor mounts??
i might do the inserts, but i think the actual mounts would be better. the window weld worked pretty good, but i still get some wheel hop at that track, not really on the street though :-\

Re:motor mounts??
got a thread on this window welding? or a how to? my mounts are shot :( i can feel my motor rock back sometimes

Anyway, what do you need to do to stop or control wheel hop? Inserts help keep the motor from moving around, which I thought was good to help equalize and stabilize the engine's weight/pressure on the front wheels, minimizing wheel hop. If you're hopping, your tires "should" be getting some traction, otherwise, they would spin. So now it goes to how to keep the wheels on the ground? The only thing I can suggest is a stiffer suspension. Front to keep the wheels down and rear to minimize the backwards motion that could take weight off the front tires... I don't know. Food for thought or I'm full of ----. :D |
Re:motor mounts??
main things to eliminate wheel hop are motor mounts and suspension, traction bars if you have the coin. i have a good shocks and springs, just need to replace my bushings and get some mounts. 600 bucks from hasport, fuk dat, looks like i'm going with the insterts :P

Re:motor mounts??
I thought Summit's traction bars were $280+something... ???
Someone else was talking about those Jimfab things too a couple of days ago, but I don't know what the $ is. I've never seen them installed, but I'm curious to know if/how they work. |
Re:motor mounts??
i jus bought a set of the inserts off ebay... decent price?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT wanted to try the window welding but those were on vibration mounts not the actual motor mounts its self... ill try these inserts oh and this is for u kev http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...929472404&rd=1 |
Re:motor mounts??
eh, ---- it, i just got the inserts, they should be good enough, i have two torque mounts alos that i filled really good with window weld, the actual mouns i didn't do such a good job, so with their powers combine, i should be stiff ;D
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7929472404 40 bucks verses 650, i figured i'd try these first :P |
