Default Mostly stripped phillips head bolt... ----

I'm trying to take the throttle off my motorcycle and the part where the cables are attached to the handle bars is attached with two phillips head screws. I got one (it was a bitch) but the other one is stripping out. there isn't enough room to clamp onto it with vice grips or anything. How should I go about getting this guy out?

EZ out, get them at sears, or drill the screw out and then retap it.

Use a hacksaw to make it into a standard slot. Or drill the head off. Or get some left hand drill bits. or put some serious man power downforce on it when you're screwing it. That last one is a life skill.

If the head isnt completely stripped one of these is nice to have

Whack with hammer and it turns at the same time... Maybe its too late. But get one of those if you can..

Anyways use the ez out (drill the largest hole in it you can and use the largest ez out that can still seat deeply inside the hole)

put some valve grinding compund on the tip of the screwdriver and then try to take the screw out. its insane how much that stuff grips the screw. an easy out would be good too

Thats what I've always done. Or you can use a dremel tool. Just be careful not to cut too deep the head tends to break easily then.

that kick *** little beaute is called an impact driver. works wonders on screws like that old steel stuff thats rusted into aluminum. any tool place sales them heck even harbor freight has one. stick it down in there turn on it some with ur hand and smack the hell out of the end of it with a hammer and itll push down and turn at the same time. love those things good for carbs too!
