more stupid suspension- on my last leg!!
ok here is my life story... please help im stuck in the mud with my DD and lil time to work on her...
first- started with dropzone struts and coilovers.
then when i lowered her, the same amount on front and same amount on rears, each side was different, significantly,
basic knowledge and reading other posts says bad news something bent, twisted, gay.
so heres the thing. i want to get this thing semi sellable. i have yet found a way to trick the bitch to get it even on all sides so i pieced together a new setup because i think the shocks blew after about a year of gravel and hell on them.
the new setup is tokico 5wayadj illumias and i went with h&r lowering springs in the rear and progressive for the front.
bad news is on the rear, driver side was about 1 finger width above tire, and other side was about 3. both rubbed when cornering, nastiest sound ever. even on every setting, 1-5....
so i swapped those back with the shitty dropzone and raised the coilovers to the max so theres no rubbing.
for the front- swapped in the two struts and progressive springs, same thing different heights off the tire, both rub with lite bumps...
man has this car sucked donkey dick when it comes to suspension...
only combo i havent tried yet is this- dropzone coilovers with tokico struts, reason, beacuse the tokico shock is a ton smaller in diameter then the opening on the threaded part for the coilover, meaning using those allen set screws wouldnt work unless they were like 1/2 long on all three sides, but would that work??
also, what would stock springs and tokico look like?? bad ya think??
i just dont understand if its my car or what because i see people with the tire up inside the ------ wheel well and ride just fine.... wtf! help!

Sounds like you got bent ----.
I've got dropzones and GR-2s on my ride right now, sits fine, but it's way too ------- stiff.
Stock springs, regardless of damper, sit like stock springs.

yeaaa... so since the tokico shocks are half the diameter size as the coilovers, is there anyways to shim it out? annyone get what im saying i can post pics if not.?? thanks

eh don't feel bad, i'm learning that uneven ride heights can be pretty common. My car always sat about 1/4" lower on the right side, and after i dropped it, it was even more. Although i've been fabbing up spacers to jack up the rear
Just gotta get a little creative.

nah man, no need for the set screws, just wrap an *** of duct tape around the body of the strut so it doesnt make noise when the coilover sleeve moves. once the weight of the car is on it they dont move that much. and w/ sleeves you should be able to set the height the same on both sides. it just takes a few minutes of jacking up and down and moving them to get it perfect, then a few days later resetting and locking them.
well ---- i dont know what to look for.. one a few things i havent been through yet..
i mainly want to fix the rear, both lowered the same and one is twice as low as the other.... is it the piece that the lower arms bolt too that is fucked up ? cuz everything else looks fine...
