Minimum cage/bar for harnesses

Is there an accepted standard minimum number of mounting points for a roll cage/bar to mount harnesses to. I'm not looking for a full on cage, I'd like to keep all the piping in the rear of the car (none running alongside the seats). Just want to be able to mount harnesses to it and not have to worry about it being strong enough in the case of a crash or something.

Why you looking for more rice points at HIN?

I'm not happy with the way my seats hold me in place through the curves actually.

You'll need 4 pts. A main hoop with harness bar and two bars going to the back.

I think the main hoop and the rear legs have to be triangularly braced. If they dont have to be, Id still do it. What kind of tubing you using, wall thickness, DOM or rolled? I think there is regulations on that also, depending on what type of racing you plan to do if any.

Was hoping that is all I would need.

Not really intending to do any racing per se, I'm not much of a track person. I'll drag a few times just to say I can run such and such. I haven't decided on what I'm using yet, probably end up buying a pre fab piece so I don't have to mess with bending and all that stuff. Welder is not usable right now, need 440v 3phase and I definitely don't have that :(

I bought a c pillar bar and mounted my harness onto that, works perfect

Hm, that's a much easier alternative. Have a strut bar back there at the moment too, was kind of weary of using that though.

I'll probably buy non-adjustables because they're cheaper and I sit straight up anyways, I don't think the factory seat belt will be the best choice to go with the seats I'm considering.

Are you looking to buy a seat? I have one that I never mounted. I'm thinking about getting something more street friendly for my car. Here's a pic.

I paid $350 with the brackets.

That one looks nice, problem being I don't have the money to buy it right now and I haven't sat in it to know if I like it or not.

Steve I still love that seat, but my Sparco suits my small ass so well! So 350.00 is kinda a waste for me. Where were you when I bought the Sparco!
