mini-me Vtec activation
I have a A6/Y8 mini-me lying around that I plan on droping into my 90' CRX. How do I activate the Vtec? I herd that an RPM activated relay would work, but is not the best way to go. I dont want to spend money switching harnesses and ---- like that. Maybe a piggy back system like VAFC, or does that requier a Vtec ECU in order to manipulate Vtec engagement?

Re:mini-me Vtec activation
^ I believe that's when you wire your vtec line to the shift light, and using the tach to set the rpm where vtec kicks in. I thought about doing this awhile back, I'm cheap, I didn't know that people actually did it.

Re:mini-me Vtec activation
Thats correct, you just wire it to the shift light signal wire and set the RPM you want the light to turn on at, and... Bam! Vtec activation is complete.
you could also do it the super ghetto way and wire it up to an on/off switch such as an A/C button or window de-fogger button... That is of course if you want to be turning vtec on and off manually

Re:mini-me Vtec activation
Unfortunately the tach light trick doesn't always work. I tried this offa relay, but didn't work. For some reason, most tachs use a intermitent negative signal to light the shift light...meaning the light has 12v+ at all times, and when the tach reaches set rpm, activates a ground to the light to light up. Right now i'm only usin the "switch" method, and it sux ***. If anyone has more info on the TE 1-wire vtec setup, please...let me know!
