Well I wasn't saying necessarily he would have a problem, just that I saw somewhere an oil pump comparison and the A6 and Z6 stomped the ---- out of the Y8's pump.

88-95 oil pumps fit the same, y7-y8 had dipsticks on the oil pump the a6-z6 did not.So where would you put a dipstick if you put a z6 oil pump on a y8?All the oilpumps flowed the same except, 89 civic crx 1.5-1.6 oil pumps flowed more for some reason. The y7-y8 oil pump did not have a problem of oiling, its because of the small oiling holes on the crank.60 dollars at the machine shop will fix that.Thats how they fixed my oiling problem on the y8.They chamfered the oil holes (I think thats what its called).I took apart a 89 oil pump and, the ring inside is way bigger than all other oil pumps i have taken apart.

You mean chamfered. That procedure in itself doesn't open up the oil galley's in the crank journals, chamfering is pretty much just smoothing the edges of the oil galleys round so as to not bite into the bearing.

cross drilled and chamfered.......because Honda was too cheap.

A6 FTW.......

Yeah, they did that and opened the holes up.Along with turning it .10 over. For some reason number 3 is the slacker of all failures.Out of the ten blocks i had, 7 of them where the number 3 rod bearing.

i have a jdm d15b block and i herd that the d15b crank is strong so i wanted to know if i use that crank in dohc zc motor would that work if i use differnt rod or pistons what would i have to do for it to work

All 1.6 cranks fit in a 1.6 block.Except dohc b16.All the z6 blocks i had still had number 3 or 2 fail, it just took longer than the y7-y8-y5 motors.I would just take it to the machine shop and just have what i said done. Sixty buck's is alot better than having to rebuild it.Plus when you swap parts like that, its best that you get it machined. So the bearing's will have a fresh crank to set on. They will mic it up there, and tell you how far they will turn the crank. .10 .20.30 Whatever the factory tolerance is.There is a guy on ebay i buy acl bearings from. (mizumoauto)ebay name.. Good price, fast shipping, and for about 60 dollars to freshing your crank, and buy new bearings, 50 dollars for rod, main, and thrust bearings.Hell you will have a new block, minus ring's with no worrys. It's a hell of alot cheaper than buying these wore out motor's from people, junkyard's and etc...
