Mini-me finished, horrible compression again.
The reason why I did this mini-me was because the head took a ---- and compression went to 0 on number 1. We were going to do it this winter anyway.
Now the a6/z6 mini-me is finished and compression is better, but worse at the same time.
before it was like 155, 160, 160, 0 (or something like that)
Now it is 190, 190, 180, 150 WTF so I tested again.
190, 190, 180, 0 WTF so I pulled off the valve cover and number 4 intake valves are sticking, I gave the spring a little tap and they jumped back into place.
Try again 190, 190, 180, 150 and again 190, 190, 180, 0
I'm assuming that this is from the sticking valve. What are all my options for why this valve would stick like that?

Just put in some valve un-sticker oil additive ---- and ran the car for 10 minutes. New compression is 190 200 190 200.
But now I'm burning oil. Do you suppose that it is the additive just burning off?

Yep, the burning is gone. Now I just can't get the ticking to go away, no matter how much I adjust the valves. (i know it is a shitty valve, I'm just hoping that I can keep adjusting them until I get the money to fix it)

Actually, I went to the machine shop that did all the work for me and I asked them about it, and what was the response. "Oh yea, I forgot to tell you, that head you brought in had a bent cam right around the number 1 area, I tried to straighten it as much as possible and I polished it.
and bitchasscracker-look at my other post from before that has a vid of the noise, it is louder than the exhaust.
