MINI ME FEEL WEAK
hey guy i just done swaping a y8 head onto a d15b8 cx motor i reuse the b8 dizzy and it fit and use a y8 timing belt im runing a po6 ecu for now but it seem so slow almost same as the old cx motor is this because of the ecu does the ecu make a really big diffrent ? thank you

Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
if VTEC isn't working it would feel very similar to how it did before, are you sure its working? can you hear it pop on? and if it is working double and triple check your timing, belt and ignition timing.....it should feel quite a bit better than a stock cx motor, i dont know what the c/r on that set up is, but i know my buddys a6 block/y8 head feels damn near like a b16a, which is nothing like a cx motor imo.....

Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK

Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
A y8 head on a b8 increases the compression to 10.5 (if your using a metal 3 layer HG) and the head flows better. You should feel something. What condition is your engine in (compression, filters, etc.)? Did you advance the cam timing 4.75 degrees? Also, a stock b8 IM and header causes a lot of restriction on a mini-me.
Is a b8 dpfi? Have you swaped to MPFI? |
Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
COnvert your P06 to VTEC. Its really easy.
|
Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
Or send it to me with $50 and I'll do it.
|
Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
are you sure the timing is right? with that belt you would be off by 1 tooth.
you do need to change that ecu for sure or convert the p06 and chip it. Going from a 70hp D15B8 to a mini-me is a huge difference as long as you changed the manifolds also. |
Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
did you remove the oil control jet when you swap the head just a thought
|
Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
A p28 ECU is a great basemap for a mini-me. The question is, has anybody used a non-vtec ecu on a mini-me and logged wot fuel maps with a wideband o2 to see if the wot maps are lean?

Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
thank for the help guy well i had a z6 and i boosted it and i blow it up then i got a 97 dx ek ... well im using the ex header intake manifold and 2.5 in catback no cat the compressing is 180 190 185 190 and the timing belt proplem im pretty sure it look right to me but then again i might be wrong but everything line up im still using the dx tranny and it seem to be slower then my stock ek dx ill try to get a p28 for sure
thank for all the help ;) |

Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
yes i did
|
Re: MINI ME FEEL WEAK
The p28 ignition maps are more aggressive then the p06. Advance the timing a litte. Try reseting the ECU
