MIL #4 on obd1 94 civic lx ckp sensor code help??
Ok i have a 94 civic lx complete build is in my sig but i am running a chipped po6 and an external msd coil on my engine. well yesterday i was looking at my friends car to try and get it running again and i checked his spark by letting him crank it while i hold the plug wire near the valve cover. well i noticed his spark was not a crisp blue it was a shitty orange spark and i thought it might have been because it was not coming from a point like on a plug and had the bright idea to do the same thing to my car w/ the plug wire while the car was running to see the spark and compare. well i did it and the spark was just like you would see from a plug and then i left my car sit over night then today when i started it a cel came on and after jumping the connector i found it was a code #4 for ckp sensor. well after some reading i decided to replace my distributor since i had one laying around and that is where the ckp sensor is. well that didnt work and now it is going to cost money to fix unless its a fucked up wire. well i was curious if anyone had ran into this problem before and if anyone had any ideas on what it may be. My next thing to do since i didnt have a meter today i will get one tomorrow and check for the correct resistance in the wires. then if that dont work then im going to replace my ecu. all help will be appreciated thanks

$238 for a new WHOLE Dizzy from Majestic Honda.
Yes I'll be buying one this week.
I had a weak/failing coil/ignitior that JD helped me on tonight.
Thanks DUDE!
OH yeah, all spare dizzy parts are leaving tonight, headed for the trash dump. Bad KArma gone just like that!

$150 ching chow vs. $250 OEM
How much is one tow bill 30 miles home?
I'm just glad now I can afford it. Still a tightwad after loosing everything, but this will be a sound investment!

Plug your ECU into any other OBD1 car and if you get a CEL 4 then it's the ECu that's fucked. Send it to me for a couple bucks, you'll feel better about yourself.

---- that, cut J1 and pop it into any OBD1 Civic/Integra except a VX. You might throw a code 41 or 20 or some dumb ---- because the car you test with doesn't have O2 heater or ELD, but you WON'T throw a code 4 unless your ECU is shitcanned.
Three years ago I would have said it was dist or wiring problem. These days I'd say 25% ECU, 75% dist or wiring problem. The dead IACV circuits in the OBD1 ECUs I am now seeing is also a relatively new thing. Guess the 13+ year old PCBs are rotting the ---- away?
