no. it just turns on a light when you start to drive.

if your idle is bouncing from 1 to 1.5k then you need to pull the IACV off the back of the manifold and clean it with some carb cleaner and or wd40, dry, reattach bam fixed

check your idle screw on the throttle body. fiddle with it.

Re:map vaccum q's

Your not pulling the map sensor line then becasue when you have no map hooked up you will get a cel and the car will idle and run like it's on 3 cylinders. You have a vacuum leak somewhere check with a pressure gauge

Re:map vaccum q's

if you pull the vac line to the map, the car should die. i know mine does. maybe you have a bad map or something. why are you pulling the vac line from the map anyways? i mean what was the car doin that made u pull that?

Re:map vaccum q's

what car is this we are talking about? try replacing the o2 sensor. or ur throttle body might be dirty,or not closing all the way. does it also smooth out if u unhook ur iacv?

Re:map vaccum q's

I'll also agree that you're not unhooking the map sensor. if you're certain it's the map sensor, try unplugging it from the harness and see if it dies.

Re:map vaccum q's

not to insult your inteligence or anything, but are you low on coolant? that will make your iacv wig out and cause idle surge....and my car doesnt die w/ the map un plugged just throws a CEL

Re:map vaccum q's

i thought it should idle around 2-3k with the map disonnected (not elec, just vac).?

o well.. take off your intake tube and look inside the TB, see 2 holes? plug one at a time and see if it corrects your idle (plug it w/ your finger).

if pluggin the top hole corrects the idle then the iacv is to blame

if pluggin the bottom hole corrects it then the FITV is to blame.
