to many miles?

to many miles?
I have a D16z6 in my del sol and my friend is willing to sell his D series turbo set up to me for 400 bucks. This is a once in a life time deal for me probally since im a high school student about to enter college and i will be broke as crap for 4+ years. I have 214,525 miles on my engine and tranny. Do you think that it is to much to turbo it? He said it is a very basic turbo kit and it wouldnt hurt to run it at a low PSI.

Re: to many miles?
It really depends on how well it was taken care of. There have been engines that have been torn apart with that many miles and you can still see the factory hone marks on the cylinder walls, while others may have 40k but have been raped. Common sense and a compression test should tell you where you're at. I had a z6 w/130k on 9-10 psi and I raped it good, she's still holdin up though. I say go for it, if it blows up its cheap to fix. Just don't forget engine management.

i'd suggest snagging the kit, gettin you a uberdata or crome chipped ecu, run 10psi and call it a day.. a new clutch will be in your future soon as well, so at least get a stage one, stockers (on just about any car) dont like boost very much
if you blow the motor, find someone local and snag a new one for a few hundred, D's are cheap and easy, just like i like em (except mine, it seems to like tormenting me)
