Both of the bottom ends are pretty much the same. The differences are mainly in the head and intake manifold design.
B18a 130hp B18b 142hp b18b's are mostly OBDII engines, and I am sure your car is obd1, so their maybe some wiring issues, You might have to use a OBD1 distributor, and some sensors, in order for your harness to work correctly. both engines will accept the GSR tranny no problem. |

92's and 93's are also OBD1

So would it matter if I got a 92-93 B18A engine if I was going to get the head port and polished? Because if not ill go the cheaper route w/a p&p head.

The head castings are the same, the differnce is in cams, and intake manifold design.
