LS/VTEC or Just LS
Well again Im shopping for engines...I was offered an LS motor/harnes/ecu for $900. Im seriously thinking about it because I could always get a VTEC head later...
I was talking with a friend and he advised again the LS/VTEC combo due to wiring, oil pump and boost issues. Ive heard this is the best setup and really want to do it. But Ive been told that the LS would be more dependable and put out about 20-30 HP less...
I need some ideas here cause im thinking VTEC!!

well 900 is a little expensive ---- for a few hundred more you could get a b16. i would look aroung a little more for another LS.... i wouldnt spend over 600, thats with tranny and all. if you want to go LS/vtec you could pick up a block for like 200 on ebay.
the b18 is a great engine for boost and would be very reliable if tuned correctly.
the LSvtec is a great 2 2 combo but not as reliable as would be a straight-up b18
it realy depends on what you want to do.... all motor or boost. and also what kind of a budget your on

but 900 is still too much for the LS motor

What B18c1......Ive been shopping for one but cant seem to find one under 160k miles....I need something to drive to work everyday here....
Oh BTW the LS has ceramic header and cold air with it.....probably not worth it though from what you guys are saying...
