LS tranny problem

Default LS tranny problem

swapped in my motor...put the new clutch in..everything is hooked up fine..bled clutch.

now

i went to put on my shift boot and all that but i jus wanted to test things. so i started shifting around listening for grinds etc. then i realize it doesnt stay in gear. i also dont have to press the clutch to go into gear. anyone have an idea of what i shoiuld look at or what the problem could be. axles and everything are in. i cant drive the car yet or start it cause im waiting for my dizzy and i didnt put any fluids in yet.

Is all this testing being done with motor not running as in it going into gear with out pressing the clutch. My thought being that i have now rebuilt three b series trans is that your sleeve selector is screwed in that gear. Check your trans fluid and look for goldschoger flakes with chrome speckles. If you see them. Then your screwed and needs inspected/rebuilt. Here after i find i open diff for this si unit i got. Ill sell it to ya for a reasonable price with your core

Take off the linakge and get a screw driver and see if you can move the transmission into gear by hand

Ok will do chris...seems moe of a shift linkage problem than a tranny problem i think...anymore advice is appreciated..thanks guys
