lowering my car today, and was thinking that the first time i did this i used a spring compressor and it was a bitch. when i did it in the Integra i used an impact gun and the grass in my yard to cetch the shock

tried a semi-new technique today..i left the combo in the car and just removed the shock nut and let the ****** fire lol dont think the control arm liked it too much...

 

1 foot on the spring.
1 finger on the impact wrench.

I just dropped the whole shock and spring out and didn't even mess with it since i have new shocks and coils and another set of top hats for them :P

 

I own a spring compressor.

 

CHEATER... i like that plan though. from now on i will be buying real coilovers unless its a POS car, and you can buy new hats for like 13bucks at any autoparts store

I hate spring compressors, it never seems that the end part ever wants to fit between the coils. It especially sucks if you have to wrench on that bitch without an impact gun.

 

i pull it all out and have my friend loosen the nut as hold it all together

 

my buddy broke his arm with one of those auto zone rental spring compressors. take it to a shop and spend the $150.
