My buddy made a setup at the machine shop he works at to shave them down and then rebalance them... It's sweet, He'll do them down to pretty much any weight (10lbs on stock seems ok) and balance them for like $60... Totally worth it, I'm getting a new tranny/engine this weekend so I'm gonna have mine done right away...

Bakeoff has one of them in his turbo sol and that thing flies on 6lbs... it's crazy.

well, like jung said 10lbs seem to be o.k., i don't know if i would shave my stock one much less due to breakage, i think they are 14lbs. stock, you can buy aftermarket ones as low as 6.5lbs i think

Yup, launch rpm will need to be higher, because a lot of the launch power comes from the inertia of the flywheel, less weight equals less inertia equals less launch, but who has traction to launch hard anyway?

I love mine. Revs much more freely, but yeah, you do have to goose it a bit more to get off the line.
