Keep blowing crank seal
For some reason i keep blowing the rear main seal and the crank seal on the oil pump, Would to much crank case presure be causing this? or did the machine shop ---- my crank up when they polished and balanced it!!!!! It Like a never ending oil leak problem, first it was the oil pump crank seal, then it was the rear main and now it's the oil pan gasket. it never ends. any insight on this. Motor is B18b1 fully biult from oil pan to valve cover.

Re: Keep blowing crank seal
no thoughts? I'm thinking it's the PCV setup because as you know the LS has a very poor setup and you cant open up the back of the block because it's filled, i woul dhave to punch it out but thats not going to happen.

Re: Keep blowing crank seal
Do you have an oil pressure gauge hooked up? If so that would tell you if it's a problem with too high an oil psi. I think you would have more problems blowing out the oil filter gasket before the crank seals if that was the case. Blow-by could def. screw up the seals, as would too much positive crankcase pressure. I'd try a new pcv valve if you're n/a, or a different source of vacuum if you're boosted.
