Default K20A in EG!!!! look

Ok, B-Series motors in civics are no longer hybrid. I met a guy a few weeks ago who was telling me how he wanted to open a shop and do k20's in eg civics. The first time he said it I thought about those articles that came out in almost every import tuner mag saying that "the k series motors wont be going into any older civics anytime soon." As you may already know the K-series motors spin the opposite way, and are mounted *** backwards. Well.....guess what. My good friend Will did the first k swap months ago. He put a K20a2 into a Eg hatch and also slapped on some custom ITBs and got 256hp at the wheels. For his car he decided to go with a little more power and ordered a 220hp K20A (JDM 2003 Integra Type R motor) in his hatch. The motor is in his car but he's still got some further plans with it but first he has to deal with CUSTOMER cars. That means that he will do the swap for you. Don't believe me try this http://www.hybrid-racing.com
Enjoy

Quite sexy if ya ask me.. If I had the cash/time I'd totally sport a K20 in a newer civic. They seem to be the new realm of honda engines putting out very impressive #'s

Question, what type of engine management are you guys using to run these? are you doing full obd2 swaps with the full harness from the original car or what?

still not convinced you can pump as much hp out of those motors for the same amount of money as a lets saya b16a. ---- base model rsx with k20 only puts out 160 to the fly.....ewww

yesterday i saw a S2000 engine for sales
$2500 a bit expensive.
But lets assume i get the money. is there a way i can mount that engine?
Once i ve seen a ugly RWD civic but it wasnt running.
My friend told me of a gearbox kit that allows FWD
anyone can light me up

yeah, there is a guy who designed a gear box to convert it to front wheel drive, but even then, you would still have same complications that you would face trying to swap a k series, but hey, i guess it can be done now. that is ------- sexy as hell. i would like to see a full tech write up on it so that i could do it myself as opposed to paying prolly 5k to have it done, very nice though.......

I want a K series badly... and I can't wait until they start just selling the mounts alone and not a 'shop' doing it.

Some of the turbo K's are putting down some retarded #'s. Also remember the motors are HEAVILY DETUNED. People who buy that K flash from Hondata pickup +30whp almost and according to all accounts they still tuned a bit conservative.

the hondata flash for the rsx-s makes double digit hp. the civic si doesn't. They said the civic si is already aggressively tuned from honda. all they do really is improve response.

Its the hybrid motors that got me thinking.

lets say you have a civic si, 160 k20a3. want more power? bolt on a rsx-s head (k20a2) w/ ecu. want better gears, bolt up the rsx-s 6sp tranny. still want more? pull the head off, slap into onto the new crv block (k24). re-flash the rsx-s ecu and bang you got like 250+hp w/ 160tq!!

wait a few years and these will be as popular as the bseries is. b series will become "old" school.

Yea, They have designed a plug and play harness to convert to the i-VTEC OBD2.
Also You guys that want to wait for the mounts to "come out", sorry to break it to you but this swap doesnt exatly work like that. besides the fact that their mounts are patented and I know they dont plan on making the swap a kit any time soon.
And those of you that still think that a B16 has more power. The K20A3 has 160 peak hp but the average power is much higher than the B16. If you know much about dyno testing it is better to get a 2 hp average gain than a 10 hp peak gain. And If 160 hp still doesnt satisfy you throw in a K20A2 (200hp) or a K20A (220hp).
