Default junk *** ls internals

ok so i was talking to a guy who owns a shop and telling him about me and my ls/turbo project. i said i was only going for 7-8 psi on stock internals on a newer ls motor 50k. he said not to do it on junk *** ls internals that it would blow or a rod will snap. that got me a little worried that a shop owner would tell me this but ive also read plenty of times that ls/turbo's with 8 pounds or pretty reliable. does anyone have any experience on this?

I'm no LS expert, but it can't be any weaker than the D series internals. Some people are just ----- when it comes to boost. I have heard people say a B7 will blow within the first boosted rev.

ummmm........ that dude is a jack ***!! the ls has some of the strongest stock rods out of any honda engine. there are people that boost 13 psi on stock ls. it is one of the best engines to boost because of the low compression. don't listen to him! you could boost 10psi for it as a daily driver

of course a SHOP OWNER would tell you that. He wants you to come to him and buy the ----. Tell him to pound salt.

Just make sure you have some good fuel management, tune your car really well, and you will be fine. If I had an LS I would have no problem running 10 psi daily.

on such low boost what fmu would u recommend? vortec running what type of fuel disc? new fuel pump and 440 injectors those might be to big. and i have some cam gears i got for free so could i use those or would there be an issue about advancing the timing?

vortech or cartech, as far as i know, they're all the same. with an fmu, you don't use bigger injectors, just use your stock ones. you really wouldn't even need a different pump. i would say go with a 12:1.

if you're running a fmu @ 12:1, don't go above 8 psi, or the pressure will kill the injectors and then you're engine... The SAFC hack with 440s or 450s may suit you better.

i would either run a AFC with 450's or 440's at 13 psi or so and with a ECU hack chip whatever you want to call it with 450's running 15 maybe and with a standalone i would go ***** out running 15 daily and 20 at the track
