Re:jumped timing
Crank walk.
I read and heard that it is one of the problems all 2nd gen DSM's have. |
Re:jumped timing
get a better timing belt
|
Re:jumped timing
Pulley Tensioning Thingamajig.... was in dire need of adjustment... belt was real loose and it jumped a tooth.... Fixd it, then sold it to my friend....
He ran it hard.... then the crank ate ----.... and the belt got snagged... and timing all fucked up...and that killed the head. Either the crank is fucked... or just a simple tension adjustment... or get a new one... |
Re:jumped timing
get a honda.
:-X jk |
Re:jumped timing
I think it was scc that said that a good swap for the 2nd gen dsm was a 1st gen dsm motor, shouldn't they be advancing in technology?

Re:jumped timing
in some ways...the 2g are plagued with crankwalk though
|
Re:jumped timing
I wish I had a car with enough power to worry about crankwalk and problems like that. Turbo is coming next week though, so it shouldn't be long... ;D

Re:jumped timing
it was mainly the 95s and 96s. 95 was the worst year for crankwalk. i've got a 98 gst (for sale) with 119k and so far, so good.
