Re: inconsistant leaking
Block off the FITV, and make sure the cooling system is bled thoroughly.

Re: inconsistant leaking
its a y7 throttle body on the z6 im, so there is no fitv.

Re: inconsistant leaking
Huh.
Well, I was shooting for cosmetic idle stuff with that comment, nothing that really addresses your leak. There's a coolant hose going from TB, into IACV, then out and down under the mani to the bypass tube along the back of the block. You think if it was leaking a touch, it would promote air in the IACV causing simultaneously your idle problem and your leak? Naaaah... it's always harder, much harder. |
Re: inconsistant leaking
^ haha, yeah it is always harder. thats why its been like 7 months since ive even driven the car.
i guess i fixed the coolant leak, and the oil leak. i put a new oil filter on and started her up, and for a few minutes there were no leaks at all. but i can hear a boost leak i think. cuz i guess it could be the hiss of the turbo spooling since i have no dp. but it sounds like its comin from near or under the intake mani. so thats probably the cause, or one of the causes of the bouncy idle. im just glad i fixed the other leaks, and fixed the really bad idle. hopefully i find the boost leak soon. matt |
Re: inconsistant leaking
so im gonna try to drive my car tomorrow sometime after class, and before work.
hopefully i can get it to a gas station to put some 91 at least in it. its got like 7 month old 89 right now. matt |

Re: inconsistant leaking
^ i think it stands for Fast Idle Throttle Valve
but my y7 throttle body does not have one. oh and its not leakin coolant anymore, just oil again from god knows where. matt |
Re: inconsistant leaking
