Im killing the ozone layer.please help
what up fellas.well for the first time this weekend I changed a hg ,on a 95 civic ex that I brought with a blown motor.I brought a d16z6 block from the junk yard and Put a modofied head that I had.I put the 2 together with a brand new hg, timing belt, etc.the car cranked on the first try.it dosent overheat and runs strong but kills all the insects and birds with all the smoke that comes out the exhaust.theres no oil mixing with water in the motor and it only smokes when the car is under load (when I drive it).I torqued the head down in 2 steps just like the book says.this car was a flood car and u can see some grey ---- coming out the exhaust so I disconnected the header and turned the car on to see if I could see smoke or any thing coming out the head but I saw nothing.Im thinking either I did something wrong with the head gasket,or brought a bad block or the pipes have a lot of ---- in thembut I drove the car for fifteen minutes hoping to burn out any water or ---- the pipes might have.what do yall think it is.sorry for the long post

yeah, could be the cat. unhook from the cat back (leave the header on) and drive around and see if it still smokes like that. if it does, it could very well be bad rings, b/c it sounds like you did the hg fine or else your coolant would look like a mint chocolate milk shake :P
