i'm building a poor mans type-r but its burning oil, lots of oil. replace new vavle stem seals, new rod/main bearing, pistion ring and i am using mugen head gasket and
arp head bolts and its torque to about 110 .lbs i need answers thanks.

 

So your building it or its built and in the car running?You tourqued the head down to 110ftlbs?

No it should not be.Do a compression test and report back.

 

i checked the compression and its not droping or anything

 

110 ft pounds is kinda high if i didnt know any better id say youve stripped something

 

110 ft/lbs is definitely too high..... and why would you buy arp head bolts? i'm sure you meant head studs.

did you put this all together yourself? did you have the cylinders re-honed? did you do that yourself? more info is needed in order to help you.

 

i took the block to machine shop and have them hone it down, yea arp head studs. i just bought a oem head gasket so i'm try that out

 

describe the oil problem. Is it burning it? How bad, exactly what color? All the time? Did you check all the tolerances (plastigage) in the engine?
