My Setup again
91 civic dx hb
converted from dpfi-mpfi
88 crxsi ecu,dizzy,intake mani.
motor is a 98 d16y7 with a 94 civic ex (z6) head on it.
ok guys, i just replaced the coil and the igniter.and the map sensor, all from a good running civic. after the car warms up...and the idleing dies to almost nothing...it sounds like a whole bunch of rockers are ticking. tick.tick.ticka ticka tick ticktick...this thing is driving me nuckin futz. also,no CEL...
if the car is running and you pull off the plug to the tps...should the car shut off or anything? it don't do anything if i pull the plug off except turn on the cel. i checked all the vacuum lines and sprayed carb cleaner everywhere....nothing. i even replaced the pcv valve.....would a clogged cat convertor do this to me? can i use a obd1 throttle body....?
also, another guy said that the valves need adjusted...i did adjust the valves when i did the mini-me..i only put 12 miles on this damn motor.
PLEASE TRY TO HELP ME..

ok...just out of curiosity. i replaced the fuel pressure regulator with a good one.....i also replaced the coolant temperature sensor. did not make a differance. so for ***** and giggles, i took off my exhaust,(since i was gonna replace it anyhow) aand took the convertor off....YOU CAN NOT SEE THROUGH THE CONVERTOR so i think that the convertor is clogged. i also took off the EACV,guess what,...there is no damn screen in it. so i am going to try and find a good used eacv that is compaible with the crx si. and i am going to borrow a set of injectors and another ecu...

i have 3 iacv's (1 is ORIGINAL from honda for my 88 CRX) all 3. no screens on them..

theoretically.. it should be "screened" by the air filter

couple more questions...
if your coolant sensor goes bad,..will it throw a code? i had a guy tell me no.
if the ecu itself is bad...does it throw a code?
how will your car run @ idle if the injectors are bad?

ok guys...i found another ecu. it is a pg7
so i plug it in, fire up the car,..boom,...check engine light comes on. it is throwing the code9 and code 19. i check, code 9 is cyp sensor.
code 19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
what the hell...i was told this was a 5spd ecu. will code 19 keep it in limp or safe mode? what do i do about code 9? or just scrap it and find a 88-99 pg7
another guy said that this pg7 is from a 86-87 integra

86-87 pg7 will not start the car they have a different style dist. Bad ecu will show a solid red dot. In my years of workin on hondas have never come across a bad ecu. Sounds like the dist is your problem comin from that code. You got an auto ecu. It will run that code and run the car rich

i am going to the salvage yard tomorrow...1hr. drive away. what ecu will work for a 91 crxsi....can i use the pg7 from the 88-89 integra..or the pr4 from the 90-91 integra? or do i have to use a pm6 only?

or do i need another dizzy? what didistributors fit the 88-91 crx si or civic si's?

You can run an obd0 PR4 or a PM6. I run on both. Get a 90-91 PM6 (It will have A06 or A09 in the numbers on the side) if you can because they're chippable. All obd0 PR4's I've seen so far are chippable.
