i have a 91 civic dx hb. i put a 98 d16y7 motor with a z6 head on it in my car. i changed the car from dpfi to mpfi. i had probs getting the car to run which i found to be my igniter. changed that and it started. my problem is that the car is smelling allot like raw fuel...which is a sign of loading up. i found my iacv is bad, so i did the "piece of pop can trick" between the iacv and intake..the surging idle is gone. could i have a coil that is going bad? igniter going bad again? the car absolutely screams....ebrake===smokes 1st and 2nd gear.. but it smells like unburnt fuel. the fuel smell is coming from the exhaust also.i am about to buy some C-4 PLASTIC EXPLOSIVE AND END THIS DAMN CARS LIFE.

not yet....this is going to be my 17 year olds turbo turd....can't get the raw fuel smell to go away....

 

How do the plugs look. Any codes?

 

what ecu are you running?

 

the plugs were new....but they have black soot on em...ecu...it is the ecu from the 88 crx si...pm6 i think

 

so you're running obd0 and also the stock si intake mani and injectors right? and what distributor? is there any way you can swap the dizzy with another to rule it, the coil and ignitor out?

 

using a z6 head you would have to use a z6 dist or a "rigged" a6 dist. you're probably WAY retarded.

 

yup, but if he were way retarded, he woudlnt be able to do 1st and 2nd gear smokeshows.
It coudl be a clogged map sensor vacuum port or a bad map sensor, making the ecu think ur cars only partially in vacuum, giving more fuel.

check for codes, u coudl be runing in limp mode.
