Re: I found it!

90 and up PM6's are best for chipping as older ones are complicated.Im pretty sure the A6 dizzy is a no go with OBD1.

If you convert to obd1 you need an obd1 dist

Re: I found it!

yup. d16a6 dist must be modified on the mounting holes aka notched and washers used to sit flush against the head. only 2 bolts will line up even after this mod.

Re: I found it!

You can also use a rpm switch to activate the VTEC for the mean time until you get a ecu chipped and vtec activation setup.

Re: I found it!

weel i tell you you what. i hooked up the z6 head and everything looks good. i have two small problems. one i need the 5 posts that go on the head to hold the valve cover on. those ill pick up tomorrow. second on the block next to the thermostat there are two watrer outlets where do they go?
and also i got the bottom right distributor bolt on to hold with a washer. how do the rest get on. thanks guys . im close i can feel it.

and also what is the cheapest route to get the vtec up and running. $125 for a chipped p28 is steep. anythingt else?

ok

Re: I found it!

ok i think there is some confusion here.

if you use a PM6 use a d16a6 distributor!

if you use a p28 (or any other obd-1 ecu) use a d16z6 distributor (on z6 head),

if you're installing a complete z6 motor your best bet to get it running smoothly and properly is a p28.

I was confused and it looked like he was going to use a a6 dist on a p28!

Re: I found it!

yea im gonna use the a6 distributor with the pm6 for now. im stuck cuz the head doents have the stem bolts to screw down trhe valve cover. so i have to wait. or use some bungie cords :8

Re: I found it!

man i'd just wait and do it right.

especially if you're doing it on the block in your sig, 13:1 CR and the dist goes a little loose, BOOM.
