I blew something
Well about a month ago. I was racing some guy on the way home from work. We both toped out our cars. I killed him but. When I got off the highway. I noticed a smell and my engine started to knock really loud, my oil has a slow leak and I was low on oil, I hadn't checked it for a while . I took the turbo off and still drive it everyday. It still drives okay but the power is not there like it use to be. Do you guys have any ideas what could of went? Smoke comes out of the breather now. I'm going to take her apart this weekend. I'm hoping it's just the rings and bearing. If it is just the rings and bearings, can I just replace them. What about the rings, should I get oversized rings now. My motor has over 160,000 on it now. It's a D16z6. I just need it to stop burning so much oil so that I can drive it long enough to get my B18B built which wont be until like next summer.

it depends on how bad the walls are. you may just be able to deglaze and light hone them and through factory rings back in, but if they are real back, and your going to have to over bore to get it back to true, might as well invest in bigger pistons. majestic has some pretty cheap, and rigns to go with them.

Yeah I would just build my D16Z6 if I had a hatch but I have a coupe and want to go DOHC. I'm slowly building a B18 and just need her for a everyday driver til then. I hope I can just replace the rings and rod bearings to stop the knocking.
