Default hows this for a fed up situation?? any ideas?

i drive my car to my friends house. i runs fine, i park it we take his car to the gym, we come back 2 hrs later. i go to warm up my car, it starts and runs for about 30 seconds before it putters out and dies. i wont start now. its been a week and i still cant get it started again.

it has good spark but it seems like im not getting fuel. i shot some starter fluid into the throttle body, and it wouldnt even kick. what coul be wrong. its my d16a6 with 137000 on it with headwork and a nice cam. i did go through a bottle of nitrous with it a few months ago but it ran fine until now., then it just wouldnt start the other day. perhaps my gas line is frozen?

Make sure the fuel pump is turning on..
Check your T-stat ground..
make sure you Fuel filter is not plugged,

If thats not working, pull the plugs and check them out, and do a compression test.. But I am sure its something simple. Fuel pumps can go out..

Well, just turn the key to the on postion.. and listen carefully, you should be able to hear something turn on in the back.. Otherwise you will need to probe the 2 wires that go to the fuel pump, make sure its getting a + and a ground.

Are you shure your getting a spark? It kinda sounds like the ignitor.

If you are really unsure that you are getting fuel, just get a 7/8th wrench and take the cap nut off the fuel rail. (dont loose the washers) and just crank it over, fuel will come out pretty quickly.

Spark is easy, just get a old spark plug, and put it in one of the wires, and ground it out, (crank it over) and you will see spark.

Next would be compression.. make sure you have good compression in all the cylinders.

Then.. injector pulse, I have test lights (noid lights) that I use for this, this shows that the injectors are getting + and the pulsed ground wire from the ecu.

it cranks over, i checked spark, its nice bright blue, thanks to msd, . was thinkin maybe my rings are toasted but then why would it run one second and then 2 hrs later not start. the injecotrs wouldnt prime if it wasnt getting gas so im thinkin its time for a compression test. i took out the #4 plug and it had oil on it but i kno wthat the gromets on my valve cover leak so i cant tell if its from the cylender or the valve cover leaking onto the plug. im about to pull the head off for a looksee pretty soon. i might even go ahead and buy a new motor. im pissed

I know this sounds stupid, but check your distributor rotor.... I've seen these things come off, but still give spark because they are spinning on a loose shaft (e.g the screw backed off and the rotor has eaten itself up and just spins loose.. If you want to see if it's a fuel problem, keep trying to start it with the peddel the floor for about 2 mins.. on off. If your CATYLYTIC converter becomes HOT (maybe red), then it's NOT a fuel problem.
