how to test a vtec solenoid

Default how to test a vtec solenoid

How could i know if the vtec solenoid is good? i put i light to know when vtec engage but when the light comes on i feel my car slow instead of start pushing, so what can i do, please somebody help me!!

Heh...the easiest way to test the solenoid itself is to disconnect the plug for it, and take a wire from the 12v+ on your battery and shove it into the solenoid plug...if the 'noid clicks, it's still good. If not, you're beat, get a new one. Did u check the oil filter screen on the vtec assembly itself? sometimes they get clogged full of gunk.

mine had no problem but i got bored and disem. the whole hosing underneth the soldnoid** and it is full of ---- inside and i cleaned it with brake cleaner.
feels no difference tho. :P
