how to test a tps?
you can use an old tps the "rivets" holding it to the throttle body are actually threaded and if you can get some vise grips on em, they will thread right out
and to install a new one just but bolts in place

this is a 90 crx dx with mpfi conversion. so i guess mine should be like yours?

Ya know what that part of the manual maybe correct. On the DX to mpfi conversion you have to flip the 2 wires. So it may be why mine is different.

yah. either way, 2 are ground 1 is signal. also. to get the rivets out you might need to make a notch in them and use a flathead screw driver. I'm sure there are many ways to get those suckers out.. thats just one of them.

I prefer to put nice big notches in the TPS screws with a dremel. If your adjusting it to get .5v when closed, Id error on the side of .45-.49. If you cross the threshold (dont know what it is exactly... >.5v ) it may mess with your idle, as the ECU see a slightly open throttle.
