How do you remove the bitch pin?
I know its easy to get out with a roll pin punch, but I don't have one and I can't get the ------ think out. How do you guys get it out? I'm talkin about the roll pin that holds the shift linkage to the tranny on an ef civic.

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
Just use anything that will fit in there and a hammer... ::)
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
get a little Bit from your drill gun (like a torx or something) put it in the pin and hit it with a hammer. 8)

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
Find a bolt that fits inside it. Screw drivers don't work. If the punch is the wrong size it also won;t work. That ------- pin has teeth on it(seriously). I hate that fucker. I usually drag the motor out with the linkage hooked up so I can get a better swing at it(assuming you're swapping a motor/tranny).

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
Oh yeah.. The bitch pin. I used a bolt or nail or something to remove it on my buddies tranny. It came out pretty easy though if you find something to knock it out.

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
my motor came out with that son of a bitch still attached and it still has that son of a bitch attached. onyx told me that the bolt from the ac compressor is the perfect fit since it's end is tapered to the right size.

Thanks fellas |
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
I sold my CRX to Researcher and helped him change the clutch and we had to drop the linkage with the tranny then the bitch didnt wanna go all the way in. My grandfather just loves me when i use all his drill bits as punches.

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
don't forget to talk dirty to it
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
impact punch ;D, point pull and its out.
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
do you guys re-use those things? I never had one when I did my conversion so I used a bolt and nut, but because of that, I have alot of linkage slop.
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
if and when you do get the bitch out... lube it with anti seize before putting it back... that always helped me out later on down the road.
ive never tried it but impact punch would be nice too! |
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
I used the proper size punch and it was a bitch the first time. When I switched to a Y8 tranny it came out easily the next time.
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
i impact punch mine but its kinda mnessed up from hitting it so much.
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
i ended up drilliing out that bitch >:( but aslong as you dont use a a screwdriver (or other things that will expand the ----) it should go without drilling.. i must have been lucky with the drilling tho, couse i just bought a new one and it fit perfectly..
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
I just cut the shift linkage off from the tranny, since Ef trannies are a dime a dozen ;)
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
theyre kinda funny cuz they feel like they arent gonna budge when youre trying to pound them out, then they just start moving out easily
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
gotta try that impact punch next time. i reuse the pins, dunno if ur suppose to? thought we fucked something up when we were putting it back together but Buddy had turn the shifter a full 180degrees around and it was bent in the wrong direction.

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
mine bent the punch so i doubt a screwdriver would have worked.
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
i pull it out with the whole tranny.
|
Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
yeah the 3rd time(2 engine swaps and 1 clutch swap) i fucked with a bitch pin i figured out that was a easier to drop the linkage with it. live and learn i guess.

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
I used a piece of metal wire from a lawn sign I had from the landscapers. It was the exact width 8mm or something. But you could buy the punch for like 8-12 bucks from a tool store, which I ended up doing...

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
i think it was julio or renr that had a screwdriver with the same diameter. He cut off the head and it worked fine.

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
Roll Pin punch works perfect everything.. Considering a ROLL PIN is whats holding the linkage in ;)

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?

Re:How do you remove the bitch pin?
I have a log piece of round bar, maybe 48" and I prop the hood wide open(or off) and hit it with a 3lb hammer from the top, hasn't failed me yet.
