use MLS headgaskets and you wont have that problem

i would have used a mls gasket if i would have built this car from the factory but i didn't . so theres no way in hell that is going to work

even mls ones have that black layer thats what was stuck all over my motor

i just used a pneumatic die grinder with a buffer pad, worked fine for me

ic, mine came off no problem, any of the black coating that was still on scraped off easily with a fingernail.
