How can I find out if JDM engine is hot?
 

Is ther a way to find out if a JDM B18C is stolen? I don't mean stolen from japan but here in America. Is there anyone outthere who keeps track of non-USDM stolen engines? I'm thinking of buying a JDM GSR from this kid but I have no way of knowing if it's hot. I know it is not USDM because the block reads B18C only. Any help will be highly appreciated.

You get papers, well your suppose to. Then you bring them to the DMV so that they know that is now the new engine for your vehicle, and then. If you have the balls to do it, your insurance company.

For me, I did none of that. Cash under the table. But I bought it from a 40,000 square foot engine shop, not the kid on the corner. Plus he could steal it back from you.

I don't think you can, unless when it was stolen there was the block number entered into the police report. Other than that, it's just a motor.

Yeah, it is hot. I asked him with a serious face and he said it was------, the whole car it's stolen. His deal is $1k cash and carry for GSR engine and tranny. ---- that. This is the same moron that will follow me home and later try to steal the ---- back. I was flurting with the idea of buying another GSR, send it to get the internals reinforced for my future turbo set up then drop it in and sell the current GSR I have in my civic. I decided that I don't wanna build my ---- with stolen stuff. I feel it brings nothing but bad luck.

who gives a damn if its hot, take off all the vin numbers and ur done, besides its from japan so chances that its registered are slim. half the warehouses of jap engines are stolen. ask for 800 for the tranny and the engine and u got a fucken awsome deal.

Just remember, when you buy from this shitbag, you are contributing to the rising popularity of auto theft. That could be your motor that was taken out of your stolen car he is trying to sell. :-\

I say send in a phone call to the cops from an annoyymous pay phone. If he's got a stolen engine I'd bet he's got stolen other things and about 70 percent higher chance of drug possesion. Then buy your engine and give him a fake adress ha ha.

Tell him your a cop and that you have to take the engine being that it's stolen! Just flash some toy badge really quick and then point to some van or something thats around you and say that there setting up survailance on you so gimme the engine and don;t let me see your face again! I say get the engine from him just make sure he doesnt get your real name and ---- use some photocopied bills to pay for it. Call the cops on his ass after you get the engine... you get the engine he still goes to jail. The best of both worlds. Cheap price for you and his ass in the frying pan? What more could you ask for? If you dont want that motor buy it for me! I need the GSR Tranny

There is so many stolen engines rolling around these parts its not even funny... someones beats you at the races... later you find out what they got and that they paid 500 for it.. stolen.. its gay.. expecially when you paid full price for your ----..

I bought my gsr SWAP! for 1800 WITH PAPERS from a junk yard. Now thats a steal of a deal!


R motors are not hard to find around here either.... ------- theives.
