Hood weight

Anyone know how much a OEM 92 civic 4dr hood weights? I'm trying to decide if going carbon fiber is worth the cost or not. LSD has them for about $470 shipped.

On second thought. it will save you lots. alteast 10-15 lbs which is good for a sweet .5-2 hp Im sure you can cut a 16.7@72 mph atleast with that.

If your hardcore you should ditch the rear seats and save like another 15 lbs, dude thats like a good 1 extra Hp there too!! both for a total of 3 hp!!!one!!11!!

Carbon is for looks if you are worried about the weight go fiberglass, much cheaper and not a whole lot heavier over carbon. But in reality its a civic, it weighs close to like 2200 anyway you arent going to carve more than 50 lbs out of it unless you go crazy so there isnt really a big point to it.

The weight isn't necessarily the point of the purchase. I like the looks of it. I probably should have worded my question a little differently so as to avoid the much needed flaming.

This is the look I'm going for. Nice and clean. Minus those fugly ass wheels.

Odd, you title this thread "hood weight" and your only question is about the weight, then you say it's not what you're talking about?

I really like mint-chocolate chip ice-cream. That ---- is hardcore. Whenever the store has the two for $5 deal, I grab a few, and eat them in a few days. You gotta get the "naturally" colored white kind though. The green makes your ---- green.

I was trying to get a good idea of how much of a weight difference there is between the two hoods. And again weight isn't necessarily the whole reason why I'm going to buy the hood. I was just wanting to know the weight benefits. Notice how I said...

All I need to know is how much the stock OEM hood weights on a 92 civic 4dr. Anyone have those numbers?

shipping weight is dependednt on size of package

so even though they are light they are odd shaped/require extra handling and take up alot of space

When my old boss use to weld up turbo exhausts the weight was around 30 pounds on them but the rated weiht on them since it was a such a large box was 75.
