Been there, done that. Stock LS block on a homo junkyard kit. Ended up cracking a sleeve just like yours did :P Hell, even my old z6/14b combo that made just around the 200 mark was still fast enough for me to dog alot of cars in my area, and if I can do that in all motor form without having to worry about manifolds cracking, turbo seals leaking, downpipes breaking, charge pipes blowing off, etc. etc. then I'd be very happy. 200hp in a sub-2000lb car is fun enough for me where I live.

problem with this picture is that the 230whp car will be faster

I understand this. Come swing by my way some time though and try to drive a car with more than 200hp around on my roads...doesn't happen. Most people even do speed limit or less on the highways by me cause they're so shitty. Really shitty/bumpy/pothole roads = every turbo manifold and downpipe breaking every other day. Ever see the hf/adapter/14b combo break? It does up by me :P Boost is good...I loved every minute of it, but it's just not practical for something I drive almost every day. Hell, I'm even re-assessing how far I want to build this LS/vtec just for that fact. Or maybe I'm just gettin' old lol. I have more fun remodeling my house than working on my car anymore :P

215 whp would be super easy on your setup I made about 175 on crts and a totally stock b16 head and cams oh ya and a full exaust. get some rocket motorsports m22 cams should put you in the mid to high 230's maybe even 240's and yes don't rev past say 9k on the stock rods. I have done it on accident before but def would not do it daily. all motor is funn in a hatch or crx like mine. runs 12's easy.

M22's + a basic LSvtec = 230-240whp? As in standard Dynojet 230-240whp? Shaaa, in your bra. What are you NE guys smoking? :P

Ive never even attempted to build an NA Bseries, but if I did, Id rock some BuddyClubs. power/$$$ for those is pretty good imho.
Bet you could find some used BC3 or 4's on HT for a good price.

Look up the specs for the buddy club cams and then look up the specs for the Skunk 2 cams and tell me if you notice any similarites.
