honda distributors

i've a bunch of these lying around half taken apart....is there anyway to test the igniters on these? are they interchangeable ( dx,si,hf)? i know the control modules are the same, as are the coils....if the igniters can be tested i can prob put togther about five hf/si distributers and way more dx ones (though no one ever seems to need one of those!)

I think there is a way to test the ignitor. The Helms manual has the details, but I think that they have to be in the car to test with their method.

I know for SURE 110% that all of the MPFI ignitors, etc are compatible...

The DX ones may or may not work in an MPFI distributer (Si, HF, EX, 1.6wagon) That you'll have to test out yourself...

there all the same ----.
to test if the ignitor is bad, the helms tells you how to do so with the ignitor in the car.

soooooooooooooooooo
what your supposed to do is check all the wiring first. then with the key in the on position, check for current in teh white and green wire i believe. if there is current the ignitor is fine.

straight outta the book in my ghetto slang.

the control modules i believe are what vary from model to model, however the ignitor in itself remains the same.

plus the module hardly ever goes bad.!
