if it makes power before 2200 why have a stall converter why not just have the car start moving at say 1000-1500 but let me get this right say u have a cam that makes massive power from like 3000 or so to 8000 if u have 5 spd tranny and u try to take off at 1500 or so wont the car stall??

a bov only goes of when the throttle is closed, in an auto car, the throttle is open during the shift so there will be no bov sound, only when you let off the gas

lol, the BOV will sound any time there is vacuum in the engine after getting closed to or having pressure, and the spring can push the air out the bell.

The automatics still have a shift point, they dont just magically appear in 2nd gear, you guys need to go back to trannies 101.

You will also lose horsepower and gas efficiency with a Honda automatic. The torque curves are going to be identical, and the horse power loss is only because of the gearing.

Anny of you guys ever driven a car with a Tiptronic tranny.I also have a 99 Passat with a 1.8t and a Tiptronic tranny. Its the best of both worlds! Its a 5 speed auto that if you put it in drive an push the lever to the side you can now manually shift the gears without a clutch. All you have to do is push away frome you to shift up and back towards you to down shift.Whats cool is that if you dont manually shift you can redline every gear and the computer will shift for you.Ive been doing some reaserch of the engine and tranny and theyboth will handel up to 300 hp stock :o

Yeah but the thing that sucks is that you can't launch!!!! That can make or break your chance of winning!! My friend has a new prelude with that kind of shifting and he always gets taken off the launch...

yeah but its an auto/turbo witch means its gonna lag anny ways but once the turbo spools up I would swoop right by you as you are trying to shift gears.I didnt say it was quick off the line but it deffenetly makes up for time lost once it gets going.Dont get me twisted,my civic has a manual tranny and stage 2 cluch.I'm just pointing out how usefull some autos are for racing ;DCheck this outhttp://www.vwturbo.com/totm/current.aspclick on the blue highlighted 12.8 1/4 mile @113.Not bad for a automatic 4 door sedan that weighs around 3500 pounds :o
