highest compression ratio on pump gas?
Hi guy's Im helping a buddy with his car and just had a question, its an obdII b18b that snapped a timing belt. Im trying to talk him into an NA ls/vtec, thing is we have a b16 head sitting around that is pretty fucked and needs a mill, so this brings us back to the question at hand what CR would be the safest you would go with 91 gas Would 12.5 be too high for a DD even with the right tune? I know this is HMT so flame suit on for going NA, he has his reasons

145 whp out of a 12:1 CR LS/VTEC with OBD0 B16 cams is about right. There is such a thing as losing power from undercamming your engine, n00b; peak power was at 6800 rpms and fell off above that point. But, hey, in the 100-275 whp range the DynoCOM unit I use reads the same as the local MD-1200SE, so that 145 --> 165 whp on most Dynojets. |
Re: highest compression ratio on pump gas?

Re: highest compression ratio on pump gas?
It's irrelevant is what it is.
To steal a fig from xenocron, "I don't make the power, the setup does. I can only make as much power as the setup is designed for" |
