the new magnaflow high flows are now obd2 compliant and flow pretty good. on real cold days on my car though i would have cat codes caus ei dont think it was getting hot enought to work well. not all high flos flow the same however, it depends on how big the holes are in the honecomb.

Yes.

And then there's also the size of the 'comb inside your cat. And Vizard made a good lick for a minute transitioning the entry and exit to the comb with what were essentially "funnels" but despite being insanely simple they outflowed most anything ever.

The 3" cat off of the Vortec 350-equipped Yukons outflows all aftermarket 3" cats tested.

I could go on, but don't care to. It is pointless. Get a cat, install it in your exhaust so you can unbolt it, and after emissions put a test pipe in it's place. Over and done.

yeah thats basically what i was getting at, the cell size in the substrate of the cat determines its flow. dave S. of SMSP made comparisons of different cats on HT in the ALL motor forum that you might want to dig up. i wouldnt spend alot of time agonizing over this however, if you want flow get a test pipe. otherwise slap in a stock or a highflow and stop thinking about it.
