It beeds to be in... sounds like you have a oil pressure issue.... I couldbe wrong, you CAN put the vtec assy together wrong too if you had all of the rockers off... ALso, there are the little inserts that go under the end cam capps that lock the shafts are those in as well

are you talking about the pins that drop in the top and go through the shafts the rockers pivot on? yes theyre both in. is it possible they're backwards. like rotated 180* out? seems like that wouldn't have let it engage at all though right? it did several times so...idk

nah they jsut have to be in... JUst tryong to cover everything....

Its either wiring for the solienoid, or the speedo/h20 temp/oil pressure isnt reading right and vtak wont engauge... When it happened to meit was a fucked up wire though for what its worth.

that's a very good possibility that its a wiring issue...the way it came and went and now doesn't work at all seems like a broken wire.

ever since the head went to hell its gone down hill first that ---- happened and when I was driving it down here (wilmington) it shucked the tensioner. I sent u a pm about the manual ---- but then realized I could get everything brand new from majestic for like 89 bucks so I got all that ordered put it on now im tired of going slow. if u think of anything else let me know. id appriciate it...

if you don't test the wire for voltage how would you know. Sell your car and buy a bus pass.

Here is an idea, just reminded what Blundar did to check for my Vtec activation, we could not hear it change over with the S2's pro 1 cams, but here it goes.

Get a wire "long one", put a toggle switch on it. Then run one end of the toggle to the + terminal on the battter and the other to the solenoid.

With someone in the driver seat"if not on a dyno" get the car going
When you get up 5500rpm flip the switch, if it crosses over it's wiring, if not then it's solenoid or a mechanicle issue in the head.

We crossed mine over at 2grand to test it and it's more noticle on the lower RPM but I have a built head with higher spring rate.

Just an idea for ya.
