I am going to get a 91 crx si. But the engine has a spun rod. NOt sure what that is. Can it be fixed or is the engine as good as trash? New at this. Please let me know.
This is what he wrote " I spun a rod on brookhurst and mcfadden in Garden Grove. I am sure it was due to the hot weather. Cylinder one detonated and spun a rod."

I dont know about hot weather....but i spun plenty rods from overreving the **** outta engines......
jus tell him the motor is ----.....youll give him 500 to 1000 dollars for the car.(depending on the condition)
then get you a swap anywhere from 500 to 5000......turbo then be happy


But as far as the engine goes....the crank is prolly fucked, so either build that engine....or jus get a swap...which prolly would be cheaper

 

So there is no use in trying to fix it? I have a b18b1 engine waiting to be put in.

Yep. He said he rebuild it, But keep the stock block. He chaged the pistons and seals. Yhe body is super clean. And he is throwing in another block and head. Right now it has the stock si engine. Which is cool. Little vetec. He wants $1300 for it all.

 

Body is clean but will need paint. Check it out.....

Yeah tell him 500 for the car......that the engine is just fucked.....
Its really not worth 1300.....unless your desperate for the car

Motor is trash. BUT...motor swap in cali = fucked. But......either way, I'm sure he'll take 800 if you bring him cash in hand.

 

Yeah its funny how he said the motor is rebuilt...and he has ricey *** hood pins and racing wheels....a muffler....steering wheel.......and say its never been raced.......yeah right
