Default help with rebuild

when putting new main and rod bearings in an engine, do I have to have the engine balanced? I'm reusing the piston/rod assembly.

u can, but don't have to. it should be balanced from the factory. just not as good as a shop can do.

don't forget to plastigauge your bearings.

in my suspension class my group is tearing down an oldsmobile engine that spun a crank bearing and scratched the crank, it was all melted and crap. we're taking apart an engine in a suspension class because we pretty much just do whatever we want as long as we learn the stuff that is covered for the week.

Honda engines are very well balanced from the factory. remember, they also build motorcycle engines.
