Default help me with my clutch PLEASE!

well i go to try to drive the crx for the first time with the "newer" trans. the problem is when i push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor then clutch dose not disengaged, so i can't select gears and what not... when the car is off i can go through the gears just fine and what not. i tried to adj. the clutch cable a billion times at least. hell i made the clutch cable tight enough so the teeth on the pressure plate would have been pushed in and even then still the clutch stays engaged.. so i put the front of the car up on jack stands and start it up.. it goes threw the gears and watched the speedo move up. i have a b18a swap with a act pro-light flywheel and a act 6 puck clutch with a 6000 mile stock pressure plate. 2 of my friends told me the clutch didn't disengage because i am using a 90 pressure plate on a 93 trans.... bahh i am annoyed, can anyone give me some info on whats going on i am stumped... please help

thanx dustin!

I thought you were supposed to loosen your clutch when i put a clutch in my 89 civic hatch it did the same thing so i loosened it and now it disengages almost at the floor but it works fine so maybe you were adjusting it the wrong way

the pressure plate shouldnt matter, its just the 90 model had a smaller spline disk

yea i always thought the pressure plates were the same. one of my other friends told me that was my problem and he was going through the same "delema" or something. i talked to a few people, they said some times its little stupid ---- that would make my clutch not disengage when i press the pedal. things like how the clutch cable is routed. and the cable might just be getting weak. i think now i am going to buy a new cable and try to some how to tuck it down by the fuel rail or use the ol-mighty zip ties. i dont feel like pulling the motor again... oh on a side not i just picked up this crx my ls swap used to be in a std 90 hatch and i have never had this problem. any ideas on that stuff?
thanx for all the help, dustin.

ok so i would bet you money it has nothing to do with the clutch cable routing, or that it is "weak".....its either broken or not broken.....my idea is a shitty situation that happened to me (dont get overly drunk and put the clutch on)....when we put the tranny onto the block, we didnt line up the splines right and we used an impact to bolt it on (another huge mistake) and so the splines on the input shaft and disk all but welded to eachother lol.....same problem your talkin about though, we got it all put in and fired it up, and the same issue.....we had to use a torch to get the tranny back off the motor lol.....hope thats not it but maybe think about it

ya know i dont really remember what caused it, it was like 3 years ago and i was pretty hammered lol.....but maybe you had something like this or some variation of it happen, if that is it you will know FOR SURE when you try to pull the tranny off the motor.....we tried like 50 different ideas before cutting it off, we even hung the motor/tranny from and engine hoist by the tranny mount and used crow bars on 2 sides at the same time.....no luck with that lol.....im sure it could be other ---- but if its that then you will be really pissed, maybe strap the motor to a truck, and the tranny to another and drive away from eachother lol....jk....but good luck with watever it is!
