okay my friend just installed the head for me we also did the timing/readjusted valves, and everything was fine for about 1 hour...then i shut the car, and when i started up the car again, there was a loud tickin sound, and also there were a lot of smoke coming out of my breather....

i had trouble with this head before, but i took it the a shop and they resurfaced it and also pressure checked it and they told me it was fine.....do you guys think its my head? or could it be my piston rings? If it is my head, i can change it right away, but i dont want to change it only to find out its my block that is messed up.

any suggestions on what it could be

 

my breather smokes and drips oil out, it might be a problem, I'm not sure.

Whats ticking? Is it your valves? Did you adjust them properly?

 

Well did you have any problems prior to the head swap. If not looking in the heads direction. Did you adjust the valves?

 

yea we adjusted the valves correctly, we goin to do another valve adjustment and see how that goes

 

did you adjust the valve in the 1-4-2-3 sequenice(sp :P)?
same ---- happened to me before when i do it wrong( i did it in 1234)

 

are you sure its 1-4-2-3 , i thought it was 1342
