Help, I'm scared

Re:Help, I'm scared
without the correct maps for fuel and ignition to run the higher lift vtec lobe its pretty much a waste to go to a vtec head. cross over power comes from the tuning... not the cam lobes themselves.
an rpm activeated switch does nowthing to the fuel and igniton curves. So you woudl be getting vtec, but only in the mechanical sence.
The less hassle would then to just stick with an obd0 head and stay non vtec on the mpfi swap.
the 1.5's breath nicely on top anyways, if you were to add the a6 cam/head.

awww yes indeed, but he never said anything about that. So i was just trying to aid him with his questions about the equipment he is dealing with at this moment.
I didnt want to throw to much at him at once.
while it would be possible to change the maps on top with turbo edit, simply saying to dial in " a large bump" is a bit crude, as well as could prove dangerous.
But yes it is defintly possible to get the correct maps, im looking at copying as much as i can from the p28 maps to a chipped pm6 for my upcmoming z6 swap into my crx.(likely using turbo edit)
Only time will tell how that works out. I am having to have someoen chip my ecu, theres no way i can steady my hand for the soldering and socketing.

thats what fuel management systems are for, it'd be obd0, so TurboEdit? Just have a large bump up in fuel and changes in ignition at the vtec crossover point.
