Where do you work? What cars?

Probably an oversquare engine with pencil rods. Nissan Spec-V, for example. They make D15 rods look manly.

No, I took off the t-belt then tried to turn it by hand.

I took off the head and the tranny. All the pistons turned (about 3/4 back and forth) except one piston. I could push it down easily though. Kick starting it might have fucked up the block.......?? I might rip it apart tomorrow and get some pic's up.

I know I'm supposed to be smart and all that, but when a motor is hydrolocked, what mechanically is the problem. Yes there's water ect. in the motor, but what mechanical part of the motor does it ---- up beyond drying it out and it working again. Enlighten the smart guy. :P

When you hydrolock a motor you ingest water and break parts such as rods,pistons,pins,cylinders etc.Implying broken stuff.Cold air intakes are bad for this if you live in areas that get heavy rainfall like the lower mainland of BC,Seattle etc where there is quite often huge puddles at the bottom of freeway exits etc.I used to be into 4x4ing and i have witnessed a few people hydrlock there engines.

water = incompressible

get enough water in there to fill volume during compression stroke and bam, the piston hits a brick wall. the momentum of the crank and power strokes of other cylinders are enough to bend or break a rod since the piston wont go up anymore.

I'm worried now that the block might not be good anymore....... >:( I'm going to rip it apart in a minute.

dont worry too much. D series motors are only worth about $400.
